For John Thursday

I swim deep in a bucket
that you mistake for shallow waters-when in truth,
what swirls shallow-
is still a part of the Ocean deep. Puddles are just a smaller part of the whole-
separated by chance,
or fate….
or fear.
But, destined to come back to that which we never leave-
whether through drops or evaporated into the breeze-
and whisped gently into the arms of a wave…
rolled on.
rolled into.
to crash onto
ourselves.
to then rise again
into our Self.
one being the other-
no matter how you see it-
I Am
the bucket,
the drop,
the puddle-
I Am still you-
and there is we-
the us brought together
because it can never be apart-

I already follow his blog since some time. 😀

Did I understand this correctly, you translate from German into English? My deepest respect.

BTW, could I be of any service in this respect? Is there a special topic you are interested in and I could write something about in English? Simply let me know, and I shall give it a try (if I can … :D), hopefully.

In general, I somehow feel that I should post in English more often. But then, poetry is not my main topic; I think, I never could procude a poem per day, so to say. 🙂

And other topics in English, I have to see from time to time. Up to now, mostly those are some kind of reply or inspirations towards discussions or questions from other English speaking blogs.

        Enjoy your weekend.
        Salva.

In your “about” you mention how life is often politics. When I read that, I thought, oh. Perhaps that’s my problem- I have no understanding of politics. I don’t even vote, or watch the news, and to be honest, I am unable to define democrat or republican….it all hurts my heart. I view so much of it as unnecessary, except that perhaps it is since we can barely function with it… I’m rambling. Tell me Salva, how I can apply the theory of politics to my life? How can I learn to relate to people based on history and politics, without selling my soul? How do I function in the world as it is- all form, identity and the politics of it, without becoming lost in it? What are the lessons the past and the current events can teach me to make life and the relating to others more bearable?
Hmmmm. You provoke thought. Too much? My apologies in advance and my gratitude for sparking the questions.
        M

I deeply appreciate your frankness and inquisitiveness. And I realise that I’ve got myself deep into hot water … 😀

May be, you’d kindly grant me some time to sort this thing out and then I should reply via my blog. Might I have your permission?

I see, you probably want me to already blush in advance. 😀

I adore blushing of the sincere.

Here we go: Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the Way. – Or: Is politics really everything? http://salvaveniaxxl.wordpress.com/2014/05/19/jingle-bells-jingle-bells-jingle-all-the-way-or-is-politics-really-everything/

        Hope you enjoy. 🙂

You will note that I wrote this on a more theoretical or technical level, so to say.

Of how you could translate theory in your personal life, depends on your own resources. If you are afraid of seeling you soul, read the first para (which I did not copy) of Jamal’s piece. Politics is not the big game only, bur starts on the lowest grassroot level.

Regarding the lessons of the past and the relating to others – well, those are near philosophical questions, which might need another setting.

… sorry, typing mistake: should read “afraid of selling your soul”. I apologise. 🙂

    Wow.

Speaking of blushing…I am humbled by this! At a loss for words, really. No one has ever “dedicated” anything to me. It’s very beautiful. A metaphor of unity. Water is a great and powerful beast, vast and mysterious, and the source of all life. Fits into the message of this piece perfectly. I am honoured that you chose to dedicate this to me. I really don’t know what else to say. You have lightened my heart. Thank you. 🙂

Also! Your questions about politics. It’s an interesting topic. Perhaps I will try to write a piece that outlines my views on the subject. I am also curious to hear Salva’s view on the topic. 🙂

I don’t watch tv or truly follow politics and once believed it was all a farce I wanted nothing to do with. A smiling face that hides the power hungry intentions of control and wealth. I believed politics had never done anything good for the world. I was wrong. I still don’t follow politics much, but I do vote now, with the help of like minded friends.

Sure, most politicians are exactly as we see them – liars with hidden agendas. However, not everyone in politics is so monstrous, and it only takes one person, one idea, to change things. Good politicians don’t appear often, but they are out there. The world would be a very different place if those few chose not to stand up and fight for all of us.

I could also take the general idea of politics and apply it to many aspects of our lives. It doesn’t strictly mean “government”.

Ha, ha … beat you!! 😀

See my link to politics in the comment above: Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the Way. – Or: Is politics really everything?

I have not even come close to even thinking more on this. Multiple projects on the go, and all of them delayed by sunshine and cool breezes…

I will check out what you had to say though! 🙂
